Did you know that brain and your body are in constant communication, helping you to make big and small decisions every day?
Recent research into neurosciences confirms the importance of the brain-body connection. Often signals stored in the body are based on information from long ago. It is is based on what we understood about a situation when we were much younger. This information is often erroneous, incomplete and misguided. We make the choices we make today based on this incorrect information. Life is more limited than it should be as the brain cannot tell the difference between the past and the present
What can you do about that?
By learning simple techniques you can learn to listen to these signals, bringing your body-brain up to date so that your choices are no longer limited by negative things that happened in the past.
You can learn to bring empathy and compassion to yourself for the difficult situation that created those messages and to get beyond your more habitual judgements and ways of coping.
The Whole Body Focusing method helps you to do this. You will build resilience and find support to manage the stresses of living in the 21s century
Taking time for yourself has never been more important.
When you take good care of your self, several things begin to happen:
You have more energy.
- You stay motivated and you prioritize what’s important for you.
- You make time for the people in your life, because you care about them and not because you feel obligated.
- You looking after your own health, because you know its important to you and to everything you do
- You find time for your favorite hobbies because you recognise how much you enjoy them
And when things don’t go well, you look after yourself, no matter what. You are less caught up with what other people think or do. You find your own inner state of care and calm whatever else is happening.
When you can accept yourself in the fullness of who you are, it becomes easier to accept other people for who they are too. Now that you have compassion for yourself it is easy and natural to extend that compassion to others.
My work is about helping people:
- to be kinder to themselves and to worry less
- to be more calm, centred and present
- to express who they are more clearly, and to become more visible
I also help people in transition – for example, career changes, expatriation and repatriation, learning to adapt to a new culture.
I use Whole Body Focusing and a range of other tools that help people to work through the challenges they are facing.
I work in English and French.
